I work for a really stupid company

Really.  What a bunch of fucking amateurs.  We increase our rates on January 1.  Since October my colleagues and I have been after Finance to let us know what the increases are going to be.  We got some.  Approximately 60% of our clients have either been notified or their rates go up at a different time.  What about the other 40%?  Rumor has it the increase is going to be 4% but nothing firm has come down from Finance.

Last Friday letters went out to about 2,000 clients of the other companies we own; and the rate increase was stated at 1.5% or so.  Letters typed and mailed.

Hmmm.

President gets call from client.  Gee, you said the increase was gonna be 4% and it’s only 1.5%?  What’s up!

(Picture shit hitting fan here)

Holy shit!  Major upsetments! Crisis! Run around like chicken with head cut off! Warning Will Robinson! Warning!

Today, new letter goes out.  Ignore the first.  Blah blah blah we’re sorry blah blah blah we made a mistake blah blah blah.

Guess what?  Of the 2,000 letters that were sent last week?  Only about 10% were mailed!  Whoever had the job of folding them and stuffing them into envelopes never got around to it!

So now we look like idiots twice over.

Got our Christmas bonus today.  Turns out, the bonuses were posted online at the website where we go to print out our paychecks.  So everyone learned what their bonus was before officially being told.  But the checks are live checks—not direct deposit!  So the money’s not in the bank yet.  Dunderheads.
